How to resize an image to exact pixels (e.g. 1920 or 1080 × 1080)
Websites, marketplaces and social posts often ask for a specific width, such as 1920 px, or a fixed size like 1080 × 1080. Here are the two ways to get there.
Open the toolStep by step
- Open the image tools and choose the Resize tab, then add your photos.
- To shrink by a set amount, choose Percent and type a value, for example 50 for half size.
- To fit a width, choose Max size, type 1920 in Max width (px) and leave Max height (px) blank. The height follows the original ratio.
- To fit inside a square box, type 1080 in both boxes. The photo keeps its shape and its longer side becomes 1080.
- Press Convert, then Save or Save all as ZIP.
Good to know
- Need exactly 1080 × 1080 even if the photo isn't square? Use the Crop & rotate tab, pick the 1:1 ratio and type the width and height there.
- Photos aren't made bigger than the original unless you tick Allow enlarging past the original.
- Resizing first, then compressing, gives the smallest files.
Is it safe?
Yes. Resizing happens in your browser, in a sealed area with no internet access. Your photos are never uploaded.
